How accurate is this clock?
This page works out the time in each city from your device's clock. If that clock is a minute off, every city is a minute off, but the differences between cities and the dates stay correct. Turning on “Set time automatically” in your phone or computer settings usually keeps it within a second.
Each city's time comes from the international time zone database (IANA) built into your browser, so daylight saving changes are applied automatically. When a place changes its rules — as British Columbia did in 2026 by ending clock changes — browsers can take months to catch up, so this page corrects Vancouver itself.
UTC offsets and daylight saving time by city — 2026
Each city's offset from UTC in standard time and in daylight saving time, and the dates clocks change this year. In the Southern Hemisphere (southern Australia, New Zealand, Chile) the seasons are reversed, so daylight saving time ends in April and starts again in September or October.

UTC to Eastern and Pacific Time
Eastern Time is UTC−5 in winter (EST) and UTC−4 in summer (EDT); Pacific Time is UTC−8 (PST) and UTC−7 (PDT). Central Time is always one hour behind Eastern, and Mountain Time two hours behind — except Arizona, which stays on UTC−7.

Which places observe daylight saving time
Most of the US and Canada set clocks forward one hour on the second Sunday in March and back on the first Sunday in November. Hawaii and most of Arizona don't change, and from November 2026 neither does British Columbia. Europe changes on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October, so for a few weeks each spring and fall the gap between the US and Europe is an hour shorter than usual. Japan, South Korea, China, India and most of Southeast Asia have no daylight saving time.
To convert a specific date and time between two cities, use the time zone converter. The “Compare times →” link on a city card opens it with both cities already picked.
Show it full screen in a classroom or exam room
Press Full screen to fill the display with the big clock, the date and the time in the first four cities. While full screen, the page asks the browser to keep the screen on (where supported) and fades the button so it doesn't distract. Press Esc or “Exit full screen” to leave. To show time remaining instead, use the timer.
Your cities and the 12/24-hour setting are not saved. Press Copy link to copy a link with your current list, and bookmark it to open the same view next time.
Frequently asked questions
What time zone am I in?
The big clock starts in your device's time zone and shows its UTC offset underneath — for example, UTC−4 · EDT is Eastern Daylight Time. If your device's time zone or clock is set wrong, the clock will be off by the same amount.
Does Arizona observe daylight saving time?
Most of Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time (UTC−7) all year, so in summer it shows the same time as Los Angeles and in winter the same time as Denver. The Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona does observe daylight saving time. Hawaii never changes its clocks either.
When do clocks change in the US?
Daylight saving time starts at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and ends at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in November. The tables on this page list this year's dates for every city, including places in the Southern Hemisphere where the seasons are reversed.
How accurate is this clock?
It uses your device's clock. If that clock is a minute off, every city is a minute off, but the differences between cities and the dates stay correct. Turning on “Set time automatically” in your phone or computer settings usually keeps it within a second.
Why can't I go full screen on my iPhone?
Safari on iPhone doesn't let web pages go full screen, so the button is hidden there. Turn the phone sideways to see a larger clock. The Full screen button works on iPad and on computers.
Is my list of cities saved?
No. This page doesn't store anything, so reloading it brings back the default cities. Press Copy link to copy a link that holds your current list, and bookmark it to open the same view next time.
Did Vancouver stop changing its clocks?
Yes. British Columbia stops changing its clocks on November 1, 2026 and stays on UTC−7 all year. If the time zone data in your browser doesn't include that change yet, this page corrects it for Vancouver.
